steph + alex | feature film | main ridge

Tough gig, this one. As Alex alludes to in his speech, tongue firmly planted in cheek.

What an incredible location. What an incredible couple. What an incredible day.

It’s not often that we share a Feature Film on the Journal, preferring to showcase our shorter, highlight films. But we think Steph + Alex’s film is a great example of the wonderful story you can tell given the opportunity of an extended edit. We hope you enjoy watching it, as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Steph and Alex were married on Steph’s beautiful family property in Main Ridge, Victoria. It was an amazing setting for their family and friends to gather and witness them become husband and wife.

Post-ceremony, whilst the guests relaxed and had canapés, we whisked the couple and their bridal part off for some portraits, ably led by Amy Oliver.

Normally, we strive to not get involved in the wedding day, and merely capture events as they unfold. It’s at this point we must make a confession. At 2:56, there was no strong breeze. The dandelion required some coercion. But don’t worry, we made a wish.

The reception was held in a stunning marquee, beautifully created by our friends at Georgeous. A true masterstroke. As was their input throughout all elements of the day.

If we had a mission statement, it would describe our desire to tell stories in a unique, engaging and cinematic way. And whilst we’re a little biased, we think a wedding film is a wonderful way to tell a couples story. And all stories deserve to be told.

Andrew and Brittany are a couple that inspire awe in us. Their positivity is infectious and they are simply a joy to be around. It’s hard to articulate their genuine nature without experiencing it first-hand.

Perhaps this is why the wedding day was so much fun. Surrounded by family and friends, a beautiful outdoor ceremony, it was simply a joy for us to capture – we were truly humbled that they trusted us to tell the story of their wedding.

Andrew and Brittany, we hope we did your story justice and look forward to the many years ahead.
