kate + anthony | feature film | florence, italy

We’ve lost track of time. All we know is the sun is setting, the champagne is flowing, and we’re surrounded by terracotta tiles on a rooftop in Firenze, Italia.

We’re at the welcome drinks for Kate + Anthony’s wedding atop the Grand Hotel Cavour. Kate + AJ greet us with a warm embrace, thrust a glass of bubbles into our hand, all before we’ve had a chance to put our bags down. It’s a gesture that sets the tone for the next few days.

Cut from the same crazy cloth, Kate + AJ truly are wonderful people, and you couldn’t wipe the smile from their faces all weekend. It was such a treat to spend a few days with them.

If you google image search, ‘incredible wedding venues in the Tuscan hills’, we’re pretty sure a picture of an ivy covered Castle would pop up. And that’s exactly where our couple decided to tie the knot.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful outdoor ceremony and drinks in the gardens before being ushered into a truly breathtaking walled courtyard for the open air reception. It was pinch yourself stuff.

What a gift it was for us to share some time with Kate + AJ, to tell their story, in Florence, Italy. Grazie, guys. We had a blast.

matty + nicky | feature film | melbourne

Let’s face it – home is where the best stories start.

This was a backyard wedding like nothing we’d ever seen before.

A ‘dining hall’ and entertainment marquee built from scratch helped realise Nicky’s childhood dream of a secret garden wedding.

But it wasn’t the location or details that made this an amazing wedding. It was Matty + Nicky – their love for each other, their commitment to family. It was beautiful to witness.

This was the ultimate celebration of love. Of home. This was a party of epic proportions.

sarah + damien | extended short | melbourne

When Sarah (co-owner of styling juggernaut, The Style Co.) asked us to capture her and Dam’s wedding, we felt a twang of trepidation. There was self implied pressure for us to deliver the goods.

And not because of her job, but because Sarah + Dam are our friends – and like with all our couples, we wanted to do justice to their day, and their story.

They met 27 years ago in primary school, and were friends before they were lovers. The universe had different plans it seems, but when the time was right, a love blossomed. As Sarah say’s in her speech, its a love that takes her for who she is, and loves her into someone better.

Thematically, we played on the idea of the coloured smoke that was featured in their stationary and event decor, and wove this through their film, from the pre-wedding shoot, to our request for a smoke machine for the dance floor – it was about making everything work in concert.

We loved the nod to tradition, but with a sense of them doing it their own way. The first look juxtaposed with a church wedding, for example. Above all, it was super important to Sarah and Dam that everyone had a great time.

After all, life’s too short to have boring parties.

Lock it in. You are it!
